The Conservative politician Airey Neave was assassinated by a car-bomb as he left the House of Commons in March 1979. Drawing on interviews with his colleagues, family and friends, this biography recalls the remarkable career of a man who escaped from Colditz, headed a secret operation to rescue Allied PoWs, served indictments on leading Nazis at the Nuremberg trials and, in later life, masterminded Thatcherâ€s bid for the Tory leadership.
